Kristina Pérez is a half-Argentine, half-Norwegian native New Yorker. She spent nearly a decade in Asia working as a journalist and academic before switching to publishing. She holds a PhD in Medieval Literature from the University of Cambridge and has taught at the National University of Singapore and the University of Hong Kong. Her articles have appeared in the Wall Street Journal Asia, Condé Nast Traveler, and CNN, among others, and she authored the first edition of The Hedonist's Guide to Beijing. Her most memorable assignment was in North Korea.

She is the Managing Director of Pérez Literary & Entertainment, a full-service literary agency based in London. She has penned several novels for young adults and THE MANY LIES OF VERONICA HAWKINS is her adult debut.
